Starting from Cortijo Las Monjas, we offer you the chance to enjoy our superb countryside, enjoying your favourite activity, possible because we are situated in a mountainous region with the Nature Reserves of the Sierras (mountain ranges) of Tejeda, Alhama and Almijara, Lake Viñuela is nearby, as are the Arco Calizo mountains and the Montes de Malaga and ancient forests of verdial olives (a variety typical of this region).  Hiking, climbing, quad biking, caving, horse-riding, canyoning, canoeing etc… all organised by Receptur GDVentura, with professional, fully-qualified instructors who will make each activity an unforgettable experience.   However, at only an hour and a half’s journey by car, you can enjoy the Sierra Nevada with its magnificent skiing facilities.

The white villages of the High Axarquía offer us ample cultural excursions – churches, chapels, archaeological remains, customs, festivals, etc.

Furthermore, from Cortijo Las Monjas, if your stay is fairly long, we can advise you about fantastic places that are within a day’s journey by car – Antequera, Seville, Granada, Málaga, Córdoba; Andalusia will awaken your senses.  Be sure to visit, whatever the season – we will surprise you.

Gastronomic Tourism

Local cuisine is extensive and renowned, partly because of the diversity of its dishes, but mainly due to the quality of the ingredients used, most of which are produced locally with care and affection, making our dishes a major attraction for visitors, whether from places nearby or from other regions or countries.
