We would love to welcome you to "Cortijo Las Monjas", Rural Accommodation located in between the municipalities of Periana and Alfarnatejo, located in the north-eastern area of the province of Malaga, about 590 meters above sea level, in one of the most beautiful natural places in the Alta Axarquía region.
The Cortijo, with more than III centuries of antiquity, has been totally restored and has been distributed in it 6 independent apartments/studio for two people with a bedroom, a complete bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with a wood-burning fireplace, a terrace or a porch.

We are located in the highest part of the Malaga Axarquía, surrounded by rugged mountain ranges, such as the Sierra de Enmedio, the Tajos de Doña Ana, Gómer, and the gorge of the Sábar river, which gives us the possibility of entering, on foot or by mountain bike, in this beautiful natural setting.
This area it is a point of union between the beach and the mountain; easy access and good road communication with the main cities such as Vélez Málaga, Málaga or Granada.
We are within the route of the Great Malaga Path (Gran Senda de Málaga), at the end of stage 9 from Periana to Alfarnatejo (Pulgarín Alto) and first stage 10, Pulgarín Stop Alfarnate.
We are also within an ecological farm of 15 hectares, where olive trees of the verdial variety, indigenous to the region and younger specimens of the Hojiblanca and Picual variety predominate.
The region of Axarquía, protected by the backdrop of its mountains, the proximity of the Mediterranean Sea and the numerous hours of sun exposure make this region a perfect place to spend the winter months due to its mild climate.
We find in this environment unique and very beautiful places such as the source of sulphurous waters of the old Baths of Baños de Vilo, to which medicinal and healing properties, especially for the skin, are attributed from ancient times to today.
Beautiful buildings and white villages that keep the flavor of past times, wide expanses of almond, olive, cherry, cereals, framed by Sierras and Tajos, bushes of holm oaks, thyme, rosemary, lavender, gall, low scrub and orchids , where hares, rabbits, foxes, partridges, mountain goats and wild boars live in harmony with the local Malaga goat and sheep ranching.
We can practice in this environment a multitude of outdoor activities such as Hiking, Climbing, Canyoning, Speleology, Bird Watching, 4x4 Routes and Kayak or Paddel Surf Routes in the La Viñuela reservoir.
